Pat & Rad Houmphan, Thailand
will be our guests.
Pat & Rad Houmphan have a passion for making Christ known to the Isaan people. Christians make up only 1% of the 21.5 million Isaan population. The Spirit has led Pat & Rad to do evangelism, discipleship ministry, leadership training and economic development in Borabur County, an unreached district in Mahasarakkam province of Northeastern Thailand. The last few years have seen a number of Isaan people come to know and accept Christ, and the Living Water Church of Borabur has emerged. Pat & Rad pray that more Isaan will come into God's kingdom and that more churches will be planted.

The Mission Transformation Proposal for Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Church USA (November 2000) states that:
Every congregation and all parts of the church will be fully engaged in God’s mission, reaching from across the street to around the world.

Thus, our congregation, along with other congregations and mission agencies, chooses to be centered on mission and be a center of mission.

We will seek to discover new dimensions of and live out our identity as a church with a mission.

We will develop understanding, commitment and skills to participate in mission, beginning in our local context, but also, working together with our area conference and the Mennonite Church mission agencies, minister beyond our local community in other areas of North America and beyond.
